The Other Story in Street Photography - Antonio Trincone

Photo by Antonio Trincone. Used with permission.

Antonio writes about this photograph,

“It is not important why I had my camera in hand in Berlin. In this moment, like a tourist, it could happen in a foreign city or in your country as well. The spot with the yellow background was fascinating. I was concentrating on the pensive anonymous figure and attracted by it, but after shooting a few pictures without any reflection I realized that people passing behind me reflected at the heart level of this figure and the word on his shirt.  I glanced and saw two girls, (sisters? friends for sure) arriving and waited to shoot at the right moment.

In my culture the yellow color is a happy one. It’s warmth adds to the feeling of brotherhood and, of course, the friendship of the girls comes to life .

In street photography this is called serendipity or fishing ability at the right spot. Sometimes the spot creates and improves itself in front of your eyes even when they have been attracted by a minor interesting figure with pensive look and a suggestion of the concept of brotherhood.”
