As I See It - Thoughts on Getting Through This Difficult Time, Week 7

Is there such a thing as pandemic brain? Are older people the most at risk? I think I have it. I will not go into the gruesome details, but I have gotten quite mixed up this week about what is written for the blog, what has been published, what needs pictures and what pictures I have asked to get.

Maybe it is my creative side acting out. For the first time in weeks, I have been interested in taking street photography again. I can’t really do it, of course, but at least I want to. I am reasonably certain this is because Vineet Vohra has been posting videos. He is so inspirational. I am going to recommend two of them.

I have absolutely no permission to use this screen shot of Vineet’s page from either Instagram or Vineet. I am using it just to show you what post to look for!

The first video, which is circled on the second row, shows how Vineet gets to the decisive moment. I had to discipline myself to get all of the way to the end of the short clip, which may be why I do not get so many decisive moments, but it is absolutely worth your time. The second video, circled on the top row, is a 50 minute presentation by Vineet on Photography from A to Z. To see these clips go to Vineet’s Instagram gallery at @vineet_vohra.

The second link was sent to me by my friend, Vicki Windman. It is a U Tube video of Peter Turnley’s personal photography project, The Human Face of Covid-19-New York City, documenting the pandemic in NYC. I suspect it will come to be thought of as the most important street photography of this time.

As the world begins to re-open, please stay safe!
