As I See It - Thoughts on Getting Through This Difficult Time, Week 2
I have been peculiarly motivated to work on all of that required paperwork of life, for example, taxes. I am here to tell you, taxes are a way to completely lose yourself in the moment. That is probably why those kind of activities draw my attention.
In this adjustment period, I have been not so much able to do the things that I love. For example, I can just now sit down and think of the blog. To publish twice a week requires a steady commitment of time. I know the root of the struggle: The blog seems kind of trivial compared to all of that which is not trivial right now.
Going back to the blog has been good. As a start, I published the blog on the comeback of film cameras a couple of weeks earlier than I originally planned. It is pleasant for me to think of exciting new opportunities. The return to film photography is one of those opportunities for some photographers. I do not plan to take up film, but I sure had fun cruising through the digital copies of old family slides. I also realized that Lightroom has lost track of where those images are, but I know where they are. That is a positive. Sometimes both Lightroom and I lose track of where images are. I am pretty sure this is going to be my grand Corona virus Lightroom project. I am going to reorganize my Old Family Pictures library so that it is consistent with my evolved Lightroom file system.
I also immensely enjoyed sharing the film photos taken by my friend, Jason Little. Almost every time I go to NYC, Jason and his wife, Jackie, join me and my family for dinner. We had planned to get together again in April. That surely will not happen, but his pictures help me feel the connection to them.
